1️⃣ You Don’t Need to Work Harder to Grow Your Business
There’s a misconception that working longer and harder is the key to success, especially when people talk about getting up at 4 a.m. to meditate or work on their routines. While there’s value in discipline, growth often comes from working smarter, not harder. If you’re feeling the pressure to hustle, remember that real success comes from strategic thinking, not just longer hours. That’s where Profit First steps in—it forces you to rethink how your business operates so you can grow efficiently, not just by adding more work.
2️⃣ Reflection on 2024: We Come Back Stronger
As we approach the end of 2024, I’ve reflected on what has been a tough year for many of us. At CTA, we’ve faced our own challenges with clients, team changes, and resources. It’s easy to get bogged down by setbacks, but remember that, like building muscle, growth often comes from stress and challenges. The hard times we face today make us stronger tomorrow. So if this year has felt difficult, take heart—it’s all part of building a better, stronger business for the future.
3️⃣ Apply the 80/20 Principle to Your Happiness
We’ve all heard about the 80/20 rule in business—that 20% of your clients drive 80% of your revenue. But have you ever applied this to your personal life? Richard Koch’s book on the AT20 Principle reminds us that only a small percentage of what we do truly brings us joy. Take time to identify your “happiness islands,” those activities that bring you the most fulfilment, and focus on doing more of those things each week. For me, it’s spending time with family, going for walks, and learning new things.
4️⃣ Marketing Patience: Don’t Give Up Too Soon
Marketing can be frustrating, especially when results don’t come immediately. But just like the story of the person who stopped digging three feet from gold, you could be on the verge of a breakthrough. Recently, a lead from Google Ads turned out to be a multi-million-pound business—proof that persistence pays off. Whether it’s your marketing efforts or your Profit First journey, don’t give up before you start seeing the real benefits. Keep going and trust the process!
5️⃣ Don’t Be Afraid to Ask
Many of us struggle with asking for help, whether it’s from clients, partners, or within our networks. But remember, if you don’t ask, you don’t get. It doesn’t mean you should take advantage of others, but don’t be afraid to ask for what you need. This week, take a moment to align your team with your vision. If everyone’s on the same page (literally and figuratively), it makes all the difference in your business.
