This Week's Newsletter Highlights:

I wanted to share some personal insights I gained from the recent Entrepreneur Circle (EC) Convention. It was an inspiring couple of days filled with valuable lessons, and I believe these takeaways will resonate with you and your business journey.

I’m also including a Profit First Question of the Week to help answer some common queries I receive. Let’s dive in!

Here are my five key insights:

1️⃣ Keep It Simple, Stupid (KISS)

This lesson came from Charlie Mullins, also known as the "Million Pound Plumber." His success wasn’t built on complex strategies but on doing the simple things really well. He focused on standing out by doing what others often overlook: showing up on time, looking professional, and delivering a great service. In business, it’s easy to overcomplicate things, but simplicity can be incredibly effective. Stick to the basics, and do them better than anyone else.

2️⃣ Persistence + Vision

Persistence was a major theme at the convention. As business owners, we often hear about the importance of persistence, but it’s crucial to know what you're persisting for. Persistence without a clear vision is like climbing a ladder only to find it's leaning against the wrong wall. Make sure you have a defined vision for your business, so all that persistence leads you in the right direction.

3️⃣ Don’t Feel Sorry for Yourself

Darren Edwards’ story was truly inspiring. His journey reminded me that, no matter how tough things get, feeling sorry for ourselves doesn’t move us forward. We all face challenges, but it's about building resilience and, as Brendan Burchard would say, "honoring the struggle." It’s a mindset shift that helps us push through and keep going, even when the going gets tough.

4️⃣ Surround Yourself with the Right People

Being around like-minded, motivated individuals can be a game-changer for your energy and focus. The convention reminded me of the importance of being part of a strong community—whether it’s the EC or another group in your industry. Find your tribe, and make sure you’re surrounded by people who lift you up and keep you energized. The right network can truly elevate your business and mindset

5️⃣ Be Authentic

One of the most consistent lessons from the best speakers at the convention was the power of authenticity. Whether it was Richard Osman or Darren Edwards, the most engaging speakers were the ones who were truly themselves. In business, the same rule applies—don’t try to be everything to everyone. Be true to who you are, and let your values and personality shine through in everything you do. Authenticity resonates with people, and it’s what sets you apart in a crowded market. Remember, it’s better to be memorable and meaningful to some than vanilla to everyone.

Profit First Q&A: Does Profit First Really Increase Profit?

A question I often get is: “How does Profit First actually increase my profit? Isn’t it just about partitioning what’s already there?”

This is a great question! While Profit First doesn’t magically increase your income, it changes your financial habits. By using smaller “pots” of money, you’re forced to make better decisions and get more resourceful. It’s like using a smaller plate at mealtime—you naturally consume less. Over time, this process of budgeting and prioritizing profitability helps drive better financial outcomes. I’ll share more examples from my business in future newsletters, but this is just a taste of how it works.

Wrap-Up: Keep It Simple and Stay Authentic

I hope these insights offer some practical value and inspiration for your business. Simplicity, persistence, resilience, and surrounding yourself with the right people are key to achieving success.

As always, feel free to reach out if you have any questions about Profit First or anything else. I’m happy to help!
